CPNJ provides direct services each year to more than 1,200 infants, children and adults with disabilities. We specialize in serving those with severe or multiple disabilities and these consumers require a significant amount of medical support and supervision. Our consumers present a full range of disabling conditions including cerebral palsy, mental retardation, cognitive disabilities, visual and hearing impairments, speech and language delays, paraplegia, autism, and various other conditions stemming from genetic, environmental, accidental and other factors. Many have inborn or acquired medical concerns that bring additional challenges including seizures, congenital heart disorders, chronic conditions and traumatic injuries while others use wheelchairs, walkers and other mobility devices to assist in movement.
We meet the medical needs of our consumers through a team of nurses who deliver on-site services under the direction of our Healthcare Coordinator. Our Consumer Health and Safety Manual delivers valuable medical information to all of the families we serve.
